The legal way to do this (without bothering the author) will be to buy the model multiple times (once for every student you plan to provide the model to) and explain to every one of them what they can, and can not do with the model they receive, according to the Royalty Free license.
The same applies to individuals who buy a model to include it in a project and are required to provide the scene files - they have to buy another license for their customer (who will have the model).
This was my initial idea, to purchase it multiple times and I was hoping I could be provided with download links for each that I forward to each student. I found an artist I liked and checked in with him and we figured out the best way is to request a custom order (hire them) and this way there won't be any licensing issues.

It would be great if customers had different options in the site interface to choose from for cases like yours + different licenses and pricing for different uses. I hope we will see that on CGT in the near future.
