1/14
I’m sure you’re here because you need a bigger boat! This is my 3D-modeled interpretation of Pat Tritle’s R/C plans for the lobster boat Orca from the movie “Jaws.” I made several changes to it with 3D printing in mind, and to satisfy the “well actually this boat had…” folks. I also used photos and still shots from the movie to incorporate details as well.
I made this design in 2 separate scales: 1/14 and 1/24.
Measurements for the 1/14 version- L: 1091mm, W: 305mm, H: 827mm
Measurements for the 1/24 version- L: 620mm, W: 178mm, H: 483mm
Note: This model was originally designed for the large 1/14 scale. The smaller 1/24 scale was scaled down from that model, making the wall thickness a little over 1mm. I did adjust the rudder and shaft hole sizes to fit my 4mm standard, however the smaller model will most likely need resin printing for some of the detail parts.I have included separate files splitting up the pieces over 250mm for smaller printers for the 1/14 scale. ONLY the pieces that required changing are in that folder. All the others are in the original 1/14 scale folder with the same numbers. This also means the split 1/14 pieces will have more supports than the original design. Unfortunately it's unavoidable without a complete redesign.
