That's a quick update on where things are with the model: The model has been printed 133% to 1/72nd scale. I have attached a number of photographs showing the progress. The hull has been printed and assembled using superglue and activator. I would suggest using the mesh smooth tool throughout as it did create a very smooth forward hull. The assembled hull was then epoxy resined on the inside at the joints reinforced with fibreglass tissue. The outside of the hull at the joints was then filled using a fine car-body filler, picture attached of the make that I use. At the moment the hull is drying and will be sanded back tomorrow. The model will be an R/C model, I enclose a picture of the motors and 6mm diameter shafts 250mm long she will be twin screw , twin ruddered. The propellor shaft tubes on the model were drilled out to 6mm. Regarding the rudders the slots that you created I filled in, I would suggest just to make a round indent on the outside of the hull where the rudderstock is. I am using small brass rudders the rudder blades will be enlarged using plastic sheet to the right size and shape as per your printed version. The motors will be driven using two 7.2v car buggy battery packs. I decided not to use your internal platforms as I wish the batteries to sit as low as possible in the hull the motor mounts will also be different. Finally the rest of the parts together with the parts for a wooden stand have been made. The flightdeck railing /netting did not print well, I intended to create my own using brass mesh. You can buy a flightdeck netting brass etch sheet from a company called "scalewarship.com" and brass railings can be bought from "Scale link fretcetera".
