Predator Shuriken Weapon

Predator Shuriken originally developed for 3D printing as a 1 to 1 scale prop. Now the CGI version is complete, this set includes a blades closed and blades deployed version of the Shuriken prop. There is no animation between the closed and deployed versions of this weapon asset, as, as you can see from the design, the components within the closed version of the weapon bear little resemblance to the deployed blades, so separate assets were developed instead, for each configuration.

If 3DS Max is not your native 3D software you can still make use of this asset via a set of FBX files which you can easily generate this prop from, though you'll have to apply the texture materials provided.

Polygon & Vertices Count:

Shuriken Closed: 195,086 - 196,294

Shuriken Deployed: 294,329 - 295,873

Additional Features:

The Predator Shuriken set comes with material sets for both an AvP: Requiem and The Predator style colour schemes of the asset to give the end user plenty of flexibility.

I would say this fits a game asset style, in that case I would reduce the polygon count down to maximum 100k polygons, you are almost 3x this amount currently. Realistically 25k should be more than required, use normal textures for extra detail etc. This would not be game ready otherwise.

I have developed this more for the use of virtual film makers and hobbyists more than as an in game asset, and have knocked down the polycount a little from the 3D Printable version of this asset, but could probably have knocked it down further. Thanks to your advice I may add a further reduced poly version suitable for in-game use. Thanks for taking the time to add your input.
