And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits. In thy mercy' And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats...And the Lord spake, saying, ''First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.
A must have for any Holy Grail fan. I made this based on measurements and screen shots of the original prop. the grenade itself is barely seen on screen, but I think this is one of the most accurate kits out there.
The main parts of this kit are printed. I printed it on a Bambu A1. I used PETG, but there’s no reason it can’t be printed in PLA or something else.
The kit comes with the 2 main body halves, three pins, the cross, and the stand.
The stand may need supports for the letters. The cross definitely does, as do the 2 halves. You’ll need to print 3 plugs.
The gems aren’t in the file. I think it just looks so much better with real ones. I used an 8mm pearl on top, though a 10mm might fit better. 2 clear rectangular gems on the front, Champaign colored ones on the back 8x6mm, 4 round green gems that are 5mm, a rectangular green on the front and blue on the back in 5x2.5mm, 2 clear round 8mm gems on the sides, and a string of 6mm pearls for around the body.
The cross shouldn’t be glued in place as it’s the pin for when you’re ready to smite!
For the lettering in the stand, I slopped on black acrylic paint one line at a time, filling in every recessed area, then wiped the excess away with a paper towel. It’s really simple.
Assembly:
1- Glue the spacers into the bottom hemisphere.2- Glue the top and bottom halves together.3- Paint the ball, stand, and cross gold.4- Glue the gems and pearls to the cross.5- Glue the pearls to the main body.6- Brush black paint into the letters on the base and quickly wipe off any excess.7- Count to 3.
