Working in Bryce 7.1 Any way to import a MAX file?

Discussion started by bakerbay

I like Bryce, been using it for years for what little 3D I do and have usually found that I can bend it to my will.  But obviously there are some pretty harsh limits on the modeling side which is why I come to CG Trader to fill in the blanks.  You guys make some really great stuff but so much is in MAX.  Bryce can import 3DS and OBJ files but gets confused with MAX files.  Any suggestions?

Export the model as .3ds or .obj and import it into Bryce. Max format is readable only in Max.

I appreciate the designers who take the time to export their models in .3DS or .obj file formats. But many models are only downloadable in MAX format. This is exclusive to MAX and therefore excludes people using Bryce, Blender, DAZ 3D and other more affordable programs. MAX files being only readable in MAX is like a members only country club. Those who can't afford to join aren't welcome.
