Sale after recent updates

Discussion started by nabinthapaliya446

Ever since CGTrader’s recent update, I haven’t gotten a single sale. Anyone else facing the same issue?

yes I have tens of thousands of royalty-free models in my possession that I can sell in large quantities. The formats include (3ds Max 18, SketchUp 18, complete with textures). I am looking for business partners to cooperate with.

It seems that our sales performance is slower than usual.

Many sellers and buyers left CGT and many others raised prices so CGT is not competitive any longer. Additionally, all people in 3D world share same space, visit same discussion groups or forums, and there you can't find any single post in favor of CGT. New buyers read it as well, and just don't want to come here. Old buyers are purchasing from other platforms where same models are much cheaper or directly from sellers through direct contact via social networks or elsewhere. My sales here dropped by 70% compared to April but having more sales at other platforms + my direct sales are now significantly larger. In general, I'm making more money now than two months ago, only difference, not here. Unfortunately, CGT is deaf and blind when it comes even to their own interest. Process is now in domino effect because things can't ever be returned to old ways, and in order to avoid bankruptcy, they are forced to implement more ways to take more money from creators which additionally push more people away from here. If they ever asked financial advisor, marketing expert and lawyer what to do, things would be different now because no one smart would ever do what they have done.

For more than a month I have not made any sales. Before the updates I was making at least 8 sales per month.

Upgrade your skills and go for high quality models. That will take more time to create but you will be able to sell them for higher prices and there are professional platforms to sell good models. Markets such as SuperHive (former Blender Market which now takes other formats as well) and Fab (former SketchFab under EpicGames) are pro choice for advanced buyers and have high royalty but also every single model must pass quality verification process, so you can't sell there just anything like here or at TurboSquid. You're not limited to one platform anyway. Upload your models to as many platforms as you can and be patient. Once, clients start reaching you, all of them will start generating incomes for you. Always use same name, and create social profiles with that name and use them to promote your models.

I now earn 40% of the sale price tops, even tho I didnt accepted to participate in any discounts. As a result I will remove all my models here and move fully to Cults3D.

Cults3D is the best place for 3D print models anyway. You could do that a long time ago because that's #1 platform when it comes to 3D prints.

Yes I am already on cults for years but had CG as second option - but now I will only focus on cults, CG is garbage.

My sales have dropped to ZERO.
But I "believe" the reason is that I changed the price of all my models to $5,000. This is my solution to prevent CGTrader from taking an unfair share of my earnings.
I’d rather make no sales at all, than allow a large company (already profiting significantly from our work) to continue earning even more from my creations.
Good luck to you all, "if should you choose to accept it" !
