I have started hiding my logo deep in my work so small that it won`t print but it is still in the file. Just need to figure a way out to hide them in step files as you can see the feature tree if it has one. Take time converting loads of files.
Hiii...Iam a seller and I strongly request all the artist working for 3d print characters.Plz take some precautions while uploading 3d print characters and miniatures bcoz i saw 1000s of stolen files from cgtrader selling as low as 1$ in www.etsy.com.The biggest illegal site for 3d reselling i have ever known.check this out:
https://www.etsy.com/in-en/search?q=character%203d...
the pirates are even using your pics and dont even have guts to 3d print or render it.plz take some steps mentioned by me to avoid your file being resold.
1.Use watermark-Use heavy watermark logo so that they cannot even patch or cure it in photoshop.
2.dis orient your 3d print parts-dont upload character as a whole.they will render it on another software.just upload pre supported or dis oriented parts so that they cannot arrange it in zbrush or other softwares.i am sure its a heavy task for these theives.
3.Use little bit heavy price-they always resell cheap products.plz try to give price above 20$ so that they try to avoid it.bcoz they are cowards obviously.
even following these steps some times cannot help bcoz they just print it and put those images.but still printing takes some efforts.i think these cowards dont have enough guts to print every model they purchase.
Thank you and plz add your precious suggestions too.

But friends we need to find out any solution to atleast reduce piracy..i also accept that we cannot prevent it 100%..any good method if you know especially for 3d print models .plz let us know...thnx
if you look at some etsy accounts they seem to be making good money with 3d prints.
@luxxeon
what kind of nonsense is that? second life :D by Meta?
Another huge place for illegal models is the Second Life marketplace. I've had maybe a half dozen of my early models reposted there, and they upcharge to ridiculous amounts. One model I was selling here for around $20 was stolen and resold on Second Life marketplace for $200.
1. Don't post links to illegal sites.
2. Any watermark is removed in Photoshop in a couple of mouse clicks. Heavy or ultra heavy, protected by convention and copyright or dark magic and ancient runes - it doesn't matter. Therefore such a solution to the problem is very doubtful.
3. If the models are stolen and are sold on CGTrader - send a report to CGT Support Team with links to the original and stolen models. Models are removed quickly. To ban an account you must provide three links. If the models are sold on other marketplaces, may accept to delete his using DMCA, the method is proven and workable. Models are removed within a few days.
