No sales after the first sale?

Discussion started by cooldude5757

Hello there, I had my first sale almost a month ago, but didnt get any sales after the first sale, is it because I didnt put the model back?
My paypal account does not allow me to pay online, and it does not accept my debit card. So I am kind struck... I hope if there are other kinds of payments allowed to pay to get my model back.

I hope someone with a prior experience could help me out here.

Thank you

Still no sales for me - at all. At the moment CGTrader looks far less effective than Turbosquid as a way of selling your models.

To the OP - I believe you can use some of your earned income at CG Trader to get your sold model back on sale.

Hi 3dartisan yes you are right cg traders is less effective than turbosquid at present but i am sure in near future cg traders will give a good competition to turbosquid but at present cg traders is a developing site so just wait and don't lose hope And i not made a single sell but still i am making models and publishing

Thanks for your kind comment 3dartisan, but paypal has weird rules, especially for people living in India. The moment I got the money, it transferred it to my bank account without my permission, it just sent a mail that the amount have been auto withdrawn. I tried to look into it, but paypal says according to the new terms and conditions, we cannot store amount online. Then I tried to pay money through paypal, but again it sucks. There is no way for me to pay the amount because my paypal account is empty (thanks to the new crazy terms and conditions) and it does not accept my card. Just like turbosquid, paypal is another Evil dictator needed to curb... Also could you tell me would not bringing back the sold model in anyway effect the sales of other models?

One of the reasons why Paypal is not available in every country is because of the laws that constrain the expansion and make the whole experience frustrating. Every country has its own laws, policies, regulations and all of that gets in the way. Hopefully in the near future we won't have to put up with such things anymore.

Cooldude - Paypal does indeed sound painful to deal with. I had no idea it was that bad. I guess Paypal aren't allowed to act like a bank in your region (ie store money). I know in some regions (russia?) you can't link paypal to a bank account and so can't get your money out as real money, only use it to pay for things online. As regards CG Trader, my understanding is you can use some of your earned fees to reactivate a sold model - so that comes before the cash gets as far as Paypal. Maybe there is an auto trigger to get this to happen when a model sells?

Cooldude, as 3dartisan suggested you can pay for model activation with the money you received from the customer.

3dartisan, your models are well designed and high quality. We get a lot of sales through our internal search. What you could try is to eliminate irrelevant keywords from tags set, so it would list only the most important words. It should bring your models higher in the results page (we are working on improving our search algorithm).

Also you could experiment by lowering the prices with discount function. Other designers lowered the price to the level that net royalties match the royalties they get at Turbosquid. The final price for customers becomes much more appealing, what in turn helped them to considerably increase their sales.

Let us know if you have any more comments or questions!

Hello there Marius, I am very happy with the site layout and royalty rates. I will surely give discount so that it matches my revenue from turbosquid.com. But I have a small doubt here. I dont know if I am right or wrong, but could the model I did not put back after purchase in anyway effect the sales of other models? I will activate the model soon, once I get my new bank account, but first I need to know if the inactive model in anyway effecting the other models. Thank you....

Hi Cooldude, don't worry, your inactive model don't affect other models in any way. I didn't know there is a such problem with Paypal, that it won't let you to hold money. Did you manage to solve it with the new bank account?
