Hiring designers and payment.

Discussion started by russianfkr

Hello, I've recently put up a post on a 3D model I have planned to get made for me, In that mean time a ton of wonderful and talented artists have responded and i've talked with some but have a weird feeling about paying so much ($300+) for a model without knowing that ill 100% get it. My question is about the hiring process and payment system, After I hire a artist Do I prepay and the funds are help by CG until the model is sent and I confirm I got the product? Or do they get the money instantly and have the potential to just run off with it and me never see it again.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out.

So the the process of the project is as follows:

The designer will only start working on a project when it is moved to 'In progress' tab. This means that the client, in this case you, has made a prepayment and we're holding it until you are happy with the work. Then the client, in this case you, has to click on 'Finish the project' button at the top right of the project screen - this will transfer the project to the 'Archive' tab and the payment will be sent to the designer.

However, if the result is very close to what you wanted or agreed on and you want the designer to make some minor changes, please write the designer directly. If the result is very different from what you have expected and minor amendments are not likely to change the outcome, please contact our Support (by clicking Help button on the page or by email: support@cgtrader.com), provide us with the project name/ID and we will do our best to help you out.

If you have any questions, please contact us via support@cgtrader.com.

Kindly,
Austeja from CGTrader
