UPDATED* Experiment with sales

Discussion started by vipmodels

Hi friends

Want to make a little test with my sales

Average month to month I selling 5-6 models on cgtrader.com

My price for models is not high and the sellings is not high too

And I will try during December selling my models with 50% discount, and will see how it will affect on the sellings

after that month I will report here!

If someone have such an expirience pls write here about it

I think that info will be useful

regards

Yura

I don't think that you'll see significant increase in sales if any, but almost guarantee that you'll see decrease in monthly income :]

About month ago this guy https://www.cgtrader.com/marvimation announced that he's increasing prices for all his models. I decided to do the same, did go through all my models and increased prices for all of them (for some even by 100%!). Did that worked out? Hell ya, not only november was best month in terms of revenue, but in terms of number of sales too! I'm pretty sure that i won't do mass discounts on my models in the near future, if anything i may increase my prices even little more. I don't think that discounts have big inpact on sales in this business, however quality of products and good presentation really helps a lot.

Anyway, will be interesting to hear your experience after 30 days, although you have choose not the best month to experiment ;] Don't forget to inform us.

Thank you for sharing this, very interesting! I guess you just convinced me to not lower my prices :) let's see if vipmodels will convince me of the opposite again.

Hi all subscribers
My experiment ended
What is the result - growing of sales on 50%
But the discount was 50% and the result is only 10% growing of the income
I will keep the action till the end of the January - will see
Who knows, may be the month was bad!

Lowering our prices doesn't make a difference in sales, just in our revenue. A customer don't buy it because is cheap, a good customer buys it because wants to save time and need it with good quality at that precisely moment.

@vipmodels, most likely growth in sales was observed due to active marketing from CGT side and Holiday sales. I guess that many sellers experienced increased sales in December. I certainly did - it was best month ever for me on CGT.

BTW, unless my math is seriously wrong, but increase in sales by 50% and lowering prices to 50% at the same time, should equal in 25% of loss in revenue.

Yes I agree that when CGT steps in to actively promote models then sales go up more than trying anything else.

Having said that when you put your models at super low prices and they look amazing buyers tend to think there is a catch.
