Alterternitives other than this site

Perhaps what is really important is to look for other platforms that offer you new niches, not necessarily for different products, but rather to look for platforms that have other types of buyers; more casual, more serious, more wealthy or less wealthy, some specific area...

I mean that the person who buys you something here is probably the same as in another platform that "looks like" cgtrader. So you will not get new sales, but you will scatter sales between the different platforms you are on.

So if you think that your models can be sold to different niches than those that can be found in cgtrader, do not hesitate to look for them and create a store there, but otherwise, do not waste time because the only thing you will do is multiply the work.

I disagree. I don't think there is any better site than Cults3D for quality 3D printable models. They offer a 80% royalty rate on day one which is one of the best rates, if not 'the best' rates in the industry. There is no reputation system that you need to navigate to earn more percentages. But is is only for 3D printable models.

CGTrader has been around for quite some time and it has earned a great reputation in the industry for all kinds of 3d models for game development, advertising and whatnot. Freelancing and Modelry also complement the site and I'm sure that all those facts are a challenge to administer.

There are other sites which have had good success in competing with CGTrader in some aspects, but not all, with them concentrating on niche areas. With all that CGTrader does, I'm wondering if they have become too popular. Searching for anything on here brings up a LOT of results, which is positive in respect to choice, but easily becomes overwhelming. There is enough jewelry and furniture content to open up websites of their own, and that is ever increasing.

CGTrader has improved the interface and fixed up some errors and I'm confident that they will continue to do so. They'll have to to remain competitive.

There are no alternatives to CGTrader at the moment. There are specialized marketplaces such as Cults3d and there are about ten of them, but I doubt that sales on any of these sites will be better than here.
