I’m a relatively new 3D artist here on CGTrader. I’ve started uploading my models, but I’m running into a wall: absolutely zero sales and, what bothers me more, zero views.
Normally, I would just assume that my models are too expensive or that the quality isn't up to par. But logically, if that were the case, I would at least be getting views without conversions. The lack of views tells me I’m just completely invisible in the search results.
So, I wanted to ask the experienced sellers here: is this a completely normal situation when you are just starting out?
I’m trying to understand how initial sales actually happen on this platform:
Does visibility strictly depend on the quantity of models? (Does the algorithm only start pushing you after you upload 50+ or 100+ items?)
Or do initial sales usually come from finding a small group of returning buyers who stumble upon your profile and buy out your catalog for their projects?
Would love to hear your thoughts on this. How did you guys break out of the "zero views" phase? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
