Unfair negative reviews due to buyer user errors – How do you handle them?

Discussion started by 3dmeshes

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask the seller community about your experiences with unfair negative ratings caused by a buyer's lack of technical knowledge.

Recently, I received a 1-star review claiming that a procedural .sbsar material I created is "not tileable/seamless." However, the asset is strictly built as a seamless material and works correctly when loaded into standard software like Substance Player, Blender, Unreal Engine, etc. It seems the buyer simply applied wrong UV/tiling settings in their program and blamed the file instead.

I have already reached out to CGTrader support to request a review/removal.

How often do you deal with negative feedback resulting from user error?

What is your success rate in getting support to remove factually incorrect reviews?

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and advice!
