some advice on improviong my 3d art

Clear up first, if it´s highpoly, dirty midpoly or lowpoly. After that we can make a better decision. Do it either showing the wire, or by informing about the polycount. And because polycount as a word in is meaningless, tell it in either a 100% trianglecount, a mix of quads, n-gons and tris, or a 100% quadcount.
BTW! seat looks great for a W.I.P. Go away with 3d! you have TALENT.

1. Pick a real reference image, not another render. You don't know what mistakes they made (obviously in this case).
2. Make sure you match the angle
3. Your UV directions on your wood don't match
4. Your lighting doesn't match
5. The reference looks like it has incorrect UV coordinates.
6. The reference doesn't have good gravity/fabric
7. You are missing details on the legs
8. Your metal buttons have irregularities.
9. You need more subdivisions your object is faceting
10. The scale on the top circular part of the wood is off
11. The cushion shape doesn't match the reference
12. You are missing the taper on the bottom of the legs
13. The leg thickness doesnt match the reference
14. Wood grain doesnt match
15. Looks like the proportions on the bottom of the leg ring doesn't match, yours is smaller than the reference.

Fix these things and we can start a proper critique.

You have the top part of the stool near perfect, but the lower part is not so accurate with the legs.
