In bulk sales, does the commission drop to 50%? Did I misunderstand? (cgt-client sales)

In bulk sales, does the commission drop to 50%? Did I misunderstand?

Our sales commissions were already reduced from 80% to 70%, almost a year ago.

Now, are the commissions for bulk sales also being reduced? Am I misunderstanding something? When it was reduced from 80% to 70%, there was a huge uproar. Now it's from 70% to 50%.

I hope I misunderstood, because things are already in a very bad state, and the money coming from there was just to offset our losses.

""Custom Enterprise Deals
Passive earnings from large commercial deals, handled entirely by us. Enterprises and studios often need bulk access, time-limited rights, or usage terms that standard listings can't support. CGTrader now negotiates these deals directly - when your models are included, you earn. License terms are adjusted to fit each buyer's needs, but never beyond what you have allowed on your listing. Revenue is split 50/50 between CGTrader and contributing designers, paid out semi-annually.""

Last year it wasn't like this... the payments were after about 2 months and based on the discount settings I set the models were sold at 50%... I made several hundred dollars from them... now I don't know if the rules have changed as you write that they pay every 6 months and you make very little money... it seems strange to me that no one would join.

They will sell your models for 5% of the listed price and give you 50%. That's a Yuuuge deal. They need to cash out something before bankruptcy.

Do you seriously believe you can make a large sum from this?
Those will be so rare and so cheap, that it will not benefit you at all - that's why they pay every 6 months - to not waste resources on transferring a few cents every month..
It will benefit only the big corporations who will get cheap models to feed the AI, which will replace you in the end..

That's a dark perspective, but it touches on a very real fear in the community right now. The AI training concern is definitely the elephant in the room. If these 'Enterprise Deals' are indeed being used to train AI without fair compensation, then the 50% split is the least of our worries. I hope the platform stays transparent about who these buyers actually are. By the way, have you had any personal experience with these Enterprise deals yet? I'm curious if anyone has actually seen any earnings from this program so far, or if it's still just a 'coming soon' theory for most of us.

I might be in the minority here, but I actually don't have a big issue with the 50/50 split for these specific deals. If they can land big corporate clients that we normally can't reach, it’s a win-win for passive income. My real concern, however, is the semi-annual payout. Waiting six months to receive earnings for sales that have already happened is a bit much. In this fast-paced industry, that delay is the real deal-breaker for me.

On the other site semi-annual payout is better then waiting more than 1 year on the competitor site. For me regular 2 payments per year are not so bad. )))) And I understand that the specific deals will not be regular so the half-year is some minimal period in which some significant profit can be cumulated. Payments every month would not probably give sense in this type od contracts.

That's a fair point, especially when comparing it to some competitors. I agree that accumulating a larger sum makes the payout feel more significant. However, for full-time freelancers who rely on steady cash flow, any long delay can be tricky. But you're right—if the alternative is waiting a year, then 6 months is definitely the lesser of two evils! ))))

Yep 50% it is... and on top of that it will be paid once on every 6 months, but don't worry, it's a great deal, they are doing it just to benefit you, just like the last time ; )
