Hi there,
I'm here to clarify a few things and answer some of your questions.
CGTrader uses a sophisticated fraud prevention tool which declines a majority of suspicious transactions on a daily basis.
Chargebacks are pretty much unavoidable, when dealing with virtual goods, but we managed to keep the number really low over the past few years.
As for the "And cgtrader take money from my account" message - just to clarify, we do not take and/or keep any funds for chargebacks, because the whole transaction is reversed by the cardholder’s bank.
So, in case of a chargeback, both the seller and CGTrader loses their share of royalties.
"Aren't you getting paid by cgtrader? Not the buyers themselves" - yes and no. Theoretically, sellers are paying CGTrader for using our services by giving away a percentage of their sales.
It is just a matter of perspective on how you understand the current centralized payment system (which was implemented to be more convenient for sellers, giving up the cumbersome direct buyer-seller payment practices).
If we would claim the ownership of any of the products published on CGTrader, the practices regarding chargebacks might be different.
In conclusion, there is nothing new about this chargeback process - it was like this since the inception of CGTrader. So, it's better for users to learn about it sooner and adapt to the situation.
I would also like to apologize to the affected sellers for any distress caused.
If you have additional questions, you can always shoot me a direct message.
Best wishes,
Mantas
