Aren't you getting paid by cgtrader? Not the buyers themselves.. Shouldn't it be cgtrader's problem, not sellers?

To be honest turbosquid doesn't cover seller's losses in case of fraudulent purchase either, although they're much bigger company and taking twice as much commisions. Not saying that is a good or normal thing though. I would like to know that at least one fraudulent purchase per month will be covered by those giants... oh well.

Hi there,

I'm here to clarify a few things and answer some of your questions.

CGTrader uses a sophisticated fraud prevention tool which declines a majority of suspicious transactions on a daily basis.
Chargebacks are pretty much unavoidable, when dealing with virtual goods, but we managed to keep the number really low over the past few years.

As for the "And cgtrader take money from my account" message - just to clarify, we do not take and/or keep any funds for chargebacks, because the whole transaction is reversed by the cardholder’s bank.
So, in case of a chargeback, both the seller and CGTrader loses their share of royalties.

"Aren't you getting paid by cgtrader? Not the buyers themselves" - yes and no. Theoretically, sellers are paying CGTrader for using our services by giving away a percentage of their sales.
It is just a matter of perspective on how you understand the current centralized payment system (which was implemented to be more convenient for sellers, giving up the cumbersome direct buyer-seller payment practices).
If we would claim the ownership of any of the products published on CGTrader, the practices regarding chargebacks might be different.

In conclusion, there is nothing new about this chargeback process - it was like this since the inception of CGTrader. So, it's better for users to learn about it sooner and adapt to the situation.
I would also like to apologize to the affected sellers for any distress caused.

If you have additional questions, you can always shoot me a direct message.

Best wishes,
Mantas

Hi, TRANTUANJEWELRY, Don't stay too long for negative emotions. Keep working hard and continue to produce good models. 70 even 700 will come back soon, Cgtrader is a really nice place for artists to make money! of course, money get in and go out is a bad feeling, So Cgtrader should take more action to keep all user's account safe.

probably it is not a right place to report stolen models in some unrelated thread. better to contact cgtrader directly. you can click on "help" on a right of your screen. Also probably you should tell where the models are stolen from...

ok thank, just thought to share first so that other can give their opinion, rather instantly hit the user.
