Subject: Action Required Verify Your Payment Details to Access Your New Order
Dear Designer,
We are reaching out from the CGTrader Support Team to inform you that a buyer has successfully placed and paid for one of your models. However, your payment details have not yet been verified in our system, and for security reasons, the order cannot be processed until verification is complete.
Please note that starting from April 15, 2025, CGTrader has introduced an updated verification procedure for all designers receiving payments. This is part of our enhanced security measures to ensure a safe and compliant payout process for our community.
To proceed, please complete the verification process by clicking the secure link below and following the instructions:

Once your payout information is verified, the buyer’s order will be properly displayed in your account, and the funds will be transferred directly to your registered payment method.
Important: CGTrader holds the client’s payment securely for up to 24 hours. If verification is not completed within this time frame, the order will be canceled automatically, and your account may be temporarily restricted. You can appeal and restore access at any time.

I have the same message, i tried to use the Report bottom but looks that doesn't work
Thank god I looked this up, they nearly got me... Everything looked authentic but something didn't feel right...
I got that message, right now, from some 'cgtrader-verification-bot' account. It's a scam.
Another one from "CGtraderRequired"
Just a general tip for noticing scams: They almost always use a generic title to address you: Dear "sir/madam/designer/artist" instead of your actual name or username
These are scammers, don’t fall for such messages. They ask for bank card verification, and if you follow the links and enter your card details, you’ll lose all your money. These kinds of messages come not only on CGTrader but also on other marketplaces—be careful.
Received one too. They waited for weekend to send another wave apparently.
When any user sends you a personal message on this site, Cgtrader will send you notification email with that message included, from their email CGTrader Team - info@info.cgtrader.com
Same happens if the scammer invites you to a 3D project, in that case you will receive email from 3dprojects@info.cgtrader.com.
So incautious person who received these notification emails can easily mistaken them as an official message from CGTrader Team.
Biggest problem is that the message contains clickable hyperlinks to a scam site.
So this message/notification emails probably need some adjustments, like stripping links from messages, not including messages in the email at all, warning that the message is from regular user and not from admin, warning that it can be used for phishing attempts or disabling personal messages from basic users at all.
I got this email too.
Why is the email address exactly the same as CGTrader - info@info.cgtrader.com ??
When the link asked for credit card number I got suspicious.
Hi everyone,
We’d like to sincerely apologise for the recent issues some of you have experienced.
Our team identified a phishing attempt that targeted a number of users on the platform. As part of our response, we proactively removed suspicious accounts and introduced additional security measures, including password resets, to help protect our users.
Please be cautious with any unexpected emails - especially those asking for payment details or urging you to click links.
Only CGTrader administrators have a checkmark next to their profile name, so always look for that when someone claims to be from our team. The admin checkmark is also visible in the message screen, helping you verify whether you're talking to a real CGTrader representative.
You can see an example of a verified CGTrader admin profile here:

Thanks for your understanding, and feel free to reach out to our support team if you have any questions or concerns.
Best,
CGTrader Team
Another strange message, this one is impossible to translate; it looks like there are symbols hidden between the letters.

I have received this message too
Pfoei... Almost fell for it. :(
Thanks to this topic and Google, I google "CGTrader has introduced an updated verification procedure for all designers receiving payments." and landed here.
@juditacgtrader It's time CGTrader sends out a warning email to all it's members, preferably yesterday.
Fell for it, had to kill the card.
I just got one as well. First thing I did was check if it was a scam on google. I never click anything now, if unsure I would always check with CG Trader first.
Hello CGTrader Community,
I want to share a very concerning experience and warn fellow users to be extremely vigilant.
Over the past few days, I have been targeted by a suspicious custom design request for $400 that I never solicited and have no record of accepting. I have repeatedly received emails urging me to verify my payment details to access this "new order," despite the project details being completely empty. Many of you in this forum have also reported similar experiences, identifying it as a potential scam.
Tragically, I now have reason to believe this might be more than just a scam attempt. The day after this suspicious custom design request appeared in my account, the credit card linked to my PayPal account registered with CGTrader was flagged for unauthorized use by my credit card company, and my card has been blocked.
While I cannot definitively prove a direct link, the timing is highly suspicious and suggests a potential security breach on CGTrader or a sophisticated attempt to steal financial information from users targeted by this fake custom design request.
I have already reported this to the CGTrader support team and removed the compromised card from my PayPal.
I urge all of you to be extra cautious about any unsolicited requests or emails asking for payment verification or personal information. Please do not click any suspicious links or provide any sensitive data.
Has anyone else experienced unauthorized financial activity following these suspicious custom design requests? Please share your experiences. We need to make CGTrader aware of the potential severity of this issue.
Stay safe, everyone.
i also recieved such email as well
Same thing here - message from account named 'VerifRequiredCGtrader'. I was ready to click the provided link but two things got me suspicious - the account name and the fact, normally, you would expect some instructions like "go to your payment settings X and fill the missing information", not a direct link.
I got this same message and one of the developers that I work with also got this message.
The first message I received had the words "Click here to verify your account", then I received a second message with those words as a link to a phishing site.
How in the world can scammers send messages from a CGTrader "support" or "verification" account?
I received this message too.

Same text message from "cgtrader-new-order" CGTRADER team should do something
I just got this message, thanks guys for clarifying. It would be nice if the CGTrader team promptly notifies its clients warning about this, someone might not have the idea to check the forums and might fall into the trap. Never share sensitive data anywhere.
Have a nice day
I also got this message this morning, luckily before I click, I tried to check the forum.
and its a scam
Fuck me, I just fell for it. After I filled in my card info I was asked for the balance on my account. Thats when I understood something was wrong. I have now blocked my card(Just before I paid for for some tickets for our summerholiday, so there isn't allot of money to steal anyway). Not enough sleep is maybe the reason I letted myself tricked this time.
i had this the other day, i went all in and put details on the said link cuz i've just set my payment stuff up on here and didnt think nothing of it, i left it for the night as it juast hangs on the loading page after you've put details in. woke up in the morning and sure enough was still loading, m conclusion is its a scam, biggots and money grabbers are everywhere want to be bums and don't want a job but want a tidy set of earnings out of someone elses pocket, dont fall for it, check online as it did it led me to here and other sources confirming the emails illegitimate origin, also look out for spelling mistakes i had a random zero within the first sentance of the email quoted "(Once your payout informatiоn is verified)". if many of you have fallen for this freeze your card and get anew one as i've done its pain in the bum but not alf as much as loosing a tonne of money. stay safe :)
Again today i received this type og msg. It's Scammer
