How do you convert it to STL?

i am pretty new to 3D printing so i need a little help. i mostly print bodies to make old race cars. i found a site that has several cars i would like to print, all his files are obj i am not sure what that means. i know most of the files i buy are STL, so can i print the OBJ files or will they need to be changed or something done to them before i could print them?
