CGTRADER ONLY PROTECTS THE CUSTOMER AND FORGETS THE DESIGNERS???

Discussion started by dmndxdesigns

When a client hires a designer, cgtrader asks for the prepayment, when the client prepays, cgtrader sends the designer the notification that the client has "prepaid", with this notification the designer begins to do the project, until it is finished, when the project is very big, the client and the designer communicate through the cgtrader chat, and share files, conversation etc ...

Now I'm going to tell you what happened to me and how cgtrader handled this matter.

The client hired me to do 4,000 renders with a value of $ 3,500 usd, I knew it would take several days to do all the renderings, I started working non-stop for more than 2 weeks, investing 12 hours every day, when I started putting the files in the cgtrader chat, the client tells me the deal is not 4,000 renders that the project was to make 36,000 renders !!!!!

When I gave her the renders, the first 3,000, she told me that he liked them a lot, when she told me that the deal was 36,000 and I told her it was 4,000, he suddenly changed his position and said that my work was wrong ... all my work was wrong !!! ....... and she completely changed the parameters of the renders, and she told me that I had to do the renders as she said now, I worked the next day more than 18 hours, and I gave her more than 1,000 new renders, but he no longer answered, it seemed strange to me, and I got into her profile, and I saw that he had canceled the project, and she gave me a one rating star, when I had 5 stars, I contacted support from cgtrader and the only thing they told me was:

Hi there,

Since project RENDERS Project was refunded due to buyer requirements and you had made some of the renders we gifted you 2 free sale.

Regards,

Julius

cgtrader not even check the conversation, not even check the files, no even ckeck the evidence, and cgtrader send her her money back!!! really? after the project is done, cgtrader holds the payment 1 full month in order to ensure "both" parties, are satisfide and the designer makes a good work.

cgtrader only protects client interest, and what happend with the designers???.......its not fair, what you think guys

If everything that you said above is true, then it's total scam and you have to require fair compensation from cgtrader. If your request will be denied, then you need to find a lawyer and consider to sue both, your client and cgtrader. However, i find very hard to believe that you told the whole story. First of all, when job is started, client can't change the details - system does not allow this. Another suspicious point - when job is cancelled, designer don't get rating for it, but when i checked your profile, i see rating for the job. Two free sales for compensation, sounds like a joke, it's really hard to believe that cgtrader could go so low.

I don't want to acuse you in lying, but we need to hear from both sides. Since you laid very serious accusations, i think cgtrader should step in and tell their version of the story. Clearly this can't be left like this. I've done more than 100 jobs on cgtrader and i have big trust and respect for their management. If what you told above is true, even if partially, i would feel very concerned about my future freelancing through cgtrader.

I have done 13 projects + 1 and you can see I had 5 stars, because I always I try to be professional, $3,500 usd its a good money, for that reason I was going to try to do a good job, and that money that my client was going to invest in my services was worth it. The problem is not that my client has changed his mind about the amount of renders, later I agreed to do those 36,000 renders, the problem is that I worked for two weeks full time, on her project, and my client liked my renderings a lot, when already had completed more than 3,000, she changed her mind, and she told me that she did not like any of them, and that I had to do them again, and she gave me other parameters to do it, logically there were arguments on both sides, and in the end I agreed again to start from scratch, and rendering with the new indications, I sent her a render to see if it is how the client wanted, she told me yes, that client bought some collections from Catricad, which many designs are poorly designed, I commented that to my client, and she got angry, and told me that I was making many excuses, that if I continued like this, she was going to cancel the project, that I better get to work, I told her ..... perfect .... I'd better get to work. The next day I worked 18 hours straight, and I was able to do another 1,000 renders, and I uploaded them to cgtrader, on the second day, I had another 500 renders, when I realized my client canceled the project, and cgtrader did not even notify me that it had been cancelled.

I always trust in cgtrader, because I have done some projects and I never had a problem, my money its "safe" with them, but now, cgtrader returned the client money, now I cant do anything, and my reputation its gone!!!......its not fair!!!

I do not understand why cgtrader refunded her money, without proper investigation, cgtrader holds designer money for a whole month, to protect clients money, and .......who protect designers work!!!!

@dmndxdesigns, let me be clear, there's no excuse to what's happened to you and this simply cannot be the end of the story, but i need to get confirmation from cgtrader that you're telling the truth, or to hear their version of the story. Until then, there's not much point in discussing this further.

But boy oh boy, i can't stop wondering how you're handling your project. So you have written agreement to do 4000 renderings, but then client express his wish that you should make 9 times bigger job for the same money and you say - ok. REALLY?! I mean WTF?! How can you even agree to this? Then you said, that you've done 75% of the job, got your client's confirmation that he's satisfied with what he sees, but then suddenly he changes his mind and requires to start all over again and you say - ok. Do you even have some self-respect, or are you spineless creature that lets other exploit you with no limits? No wonder that you get booted.

I'm sorry for my comment, but cadcart is very infamous seller of pirated models. They gave hundreds of reasons to be banned, but CGTrader decided to leave this store alive (unfortunatelly)... The case you described (and also what you said in your comments about cadcart's models quality) is another evidence and reason to NOT trust people who prefer to reach models from such dishonest sellers like cadcart. Looking at reviews that your ex-customer leaved when she bought various models on CGT I see: she prefers to buy scam-content... Very unhappy situation and CGT in this situation kept wrong side.

And a bit of useless "sentiments": It's true designers/craftsmen nightmare. When somebody buys BAD models from BAD seller, after that he/she leaves 5star review about those bad models. And when after all this buyer goes to another contractor to customize, render or print this crap, he/she is getting true review about those models: "Sorry, but it's models that have bad quality... It's hard to work with this shit!"... and trrrrrrataaaaaaaaaa... after all the scapegoat is not scammer who sold this trash but contractor who said the truth. It's nightmare.

I thought it might be interesting for the community to take a look. It is also unclear why the reputation was so merged. 15 positive vs. 1 negative, should be about 4.6-4.7. Can this be affected by the price of the project?

I'm not even sure what "gifted 2 free sales" mean. Can someone clarify that for me? Is it that you receive full credit (no fees) on your next two sales? Or what does that mean exactly?

Guys, suppose I lie, suppose the client is right, it was a project of at least 2 months, it was far from finished, I had been working for two weeks only on that project, my other job, I put it aside, I paid to other designers to help me with my other things, if the client tells me that I am wrong, at that moment I rectify, now... if the project was going to last several weeks, logically I had already worked a lot, cgtrader at the time that the client cancel, cgtrader should notify us, and say "hey your client is canceling, you know why"?

For situations like this, it is that cgtrader exists, give work to the designers, provides service to clients, cgtrader are intermediary between client and designer, in order to avoid scams.

is something like this happening on another platform(upwork, or fiverr) ? It's make me afraid to take large projects.... since no guarantee and other investigation from the cgtraders...

As I know, Upwork is full of "complicated" employers/customers. It's one of many reasons why I prefer to not dealing with Upwork and to work through CGT (even if CGT is not as excellent as all we want). Sometimes I'm helping my partners to make some projects from Upwork (as sub-contractor) and every time I'm happy about the impossibility of direct contacting with upwork's dorks.
