Browsing categories, or subjects is not easy

Wish there was a better way to filter your browsing selections and categories so I dont have to view every single file available ... especially all the nudes ..they should be in their own category...

for example, if I want to browse 'aircraft' ,well, I can select that,but then if I want to filter it to just 3D Prints, guess what..when I select 3D prints,Im forced to look through every single 3D print, instead of just 3D prints of aircraft... do you realize how many 3D print files of jewelry are on here? great for the jewelry people, but someone wanting to look at just aircraft 3D prints has to go through pages and pages of rings!

Actually for me when I type aircraft and then I check 3d print it only shows me 3d print aircraft it's working

when you select the aircraft category though, and then check 3D ,it changes from aircraft to all the 3D files... so, yeah I can seacch for aircraft and see what 3D files are there that have 'aircraft' in it, but there are often more to look at. so being able to actually browse the categories and only see the selected file types would be great

Search is complete mess on cgtrader. Look at the textures category for example - everything that has "texture" tag, goes there. And it's the same in every other category. If you want to find specific model here, you have to dig through tons of unrelated results. Cgtrader's main rival is way ahead in this area. I believe, that's one of the reasons why serious buyers are choosing TS and not CGT, as their primary marketplace. Now, when TS is forcing oppressive pricing policy, my sales here is constantly dropping and sales over there is rising. And that saddens me alot.

Dashboard improvements are nice for sure, but product browsing is essential part of stock marketplace and it should be given top priority on CGT roadmap.

LemonadeCG, if you allow Ts to cut your prices then people that have a Ts account have no reason to buy your models here, you probably better put your same priced models offline on Ts and regain your sales back here. The sales I lost on Ts after deactivating my account simply moved over here so no worry’s, probably same for you. If you do keep selling same priced models on Ts you can probably better go exclusive, otherwise your just losing money. On other hand going exclusive is a big mistake and unhealthy for market. Ps: If you type airplane in the search you get all airplanes, then on top we get some check boxes for low poly, PBR, etc., among those we also have a 3D print checkbox, if you check that then you get only airplanes for 3D printing (very few it seems).

Hi iterateCGI, what you've described here, might work if you're selling highly unique models, that's hard to find at other stores (probably, that's your case). If you're selling ordinary models, like i do, then buyers won't follow you up, if they won't find your models on market X, they will buy similar models from someone else. And now, when more and more buyers are aware of the fact that prices on CGT and TS are equal (for the same seller), most of them don't even bother to visit cgtrader anymore. Taking down models at TS, would mean huge loss to me. Not something i can afford at the moment. Unfortunately, it's a lose-lose situation.

Yes LemonadeCG it seems like a valid viewpoint but also consider this view.
Matt wisdom himself told in Ts forum 80% of his kingdom are exclusive artists, so that art is not available anywhere ells. Keep in mind CGt also harbors a very large base of artist (probably also 80%) that are exclusive to CGt (its a group that distanced itself of Ts and made leap to successfully compete with the expensive Ts artists and made CGt big in that process). Just a small part are artist that linger around and also sell in other markets but they mainly provide best offers here because of the lower transaction fees, they also link to this site because they want to provide best value to their customers.

If you do not leverage this low transaction fee advantage then basically your losing out.

Bare with me explaining;

You/we are product developers and bring products to market, during the stages of development and bringing those products to market we have cost (software licenses, learning time/materials, production time and eventually the fees for bringing the products to market).

The thing is, if we want to stay relevant in the market we need to beat our competition (especially if we bring somewhat similar things to that market). An essential part in that is bringing best value for money and to do that we need to be most cost effective right?

There are several ways for optimizing and making a difference in providing more value to our potential customers. 1, we spent less on software and look for best cost effective tools to do the job, 2, we specialize in specific areas so we can get a master in it and establish a production pipeline that generates high quality content faster, 3, we look for best and most cost effective solutions to bring the products to market (Ts is not best solution and most expensive of all).

So basically some link in your production chain is not that optimized. You will probably have a problem competing successfully with artists that have similar offerings here and take advantage of the lower transaction fee (meaning they are not on Ts and compete directly with the artists over there).

Also keep in mind most customers have more then one account and they use the one or the other only if they encounter something more interesting that is not on the other or the price is different for same products, in that regard you potentially drive traffic to your more expensive transaction platform if price is the same.

You probably think yeah but those customers I need them and they are only on Ts,

You do not know that, what is certain however is that you are providing your products on the most expensive solution.
