Bitcoin payments

Discussion started by Digitize3D

Hey CGTrader Team, Do you consider bitcoin payments for the future? I found an article from 2014 that you accept this kind of payments, but I can't see this option right now. From the seller perspective, option of receiving money in Bitcoin witout an automatic exchange to $ value, would be very cool too.

It’s to volatile, not good for exchange of real value, its like one moment you have some gold and then it turns into plastic over night and the back to silver or gold next day. Cryptocurrencies are big casinos run by a bunch of tech mobs these days, its not ready for exchange of value in the real world, it needs to be steady for that, its like 1000 times worse then central banks and wall street right now.

I am not saying that the models should be priced in bitcoin. Normal usd value for the models, of course, but the possiblity to pay this value in btc, with live exchange rate would only enhance this website in my opinion.

If i understand correctly, cgtrader would have to buy and keep big amount of bitcoins in order to be able to pay designers in that currency. That's quite a big risk with little to none benefits for them.
If you want bitcoins, then simply buy them by yourself after you'll be paid in dollars :]

This is an interesting idea even though BTC/LTC are volatile many sites are already accepting it, example overstock. Not sure if I am allowed to post stuff about other 3d site here but search for cubebrush +litecoin. One way to avoid the volatility issue is instant payout at the point of sale.
