We were trying this and someone even thought of creating a group video to showcase some of the models but then all of a sudden the guy who was in charge of making the video decided not to go through with it. Nobody knows exactly why but that was the last we've heard of it. Maybe someone else should give it a shot... It has to be someone good at rendering and compositing in order for it to work.

One of the best ways to advertise is to get listed on the big search engines. I do not know what the criteria is for getting a good position on google or bing but I know that my cgtrader models are getting fairly good positions in either the web or image search results. For example "toy train set 3d model" is coming up good on google image search. The results do keep changing now and again though. I would advise all sellers to provide good titles, descriptions and images as one of the ways to improve their chances of getting listed and seen, and the last time I looked google was still the biggest search engine in the world. After all who has the time to trawl all the individual 3d websites when they are after a 3d model.

You are right Flat 3D and that is why CGTrader needs to become the go to place for people to buy models but the only way they can do that is to become the google of 3D. Once people get to CGTrader from google then they need to be able to do further browsing within the site to get to the exact model they want. Often times they are led to CGtrader but then once they start browsing they just give up and go back to google again and that is bad for CGtrader's business because then next time they search they may be led to a different site. As you have suggested tagging is the key but so far the best results I was able to get was using CGtrader's auto tag system. Whenever I tried tagging them manually the results were abysmal... hence I prefer to just let the CGtrader auto tagging do it for me.

as I said in another thread, CGTrader is the second site for sales volume for me. But I didn't wait CGTrader do advertising for me, I do myself with YouTube, DeviantArt etc.. and it works well.

maybe the cgtrader guy's should do the video and upload it at their channel on you tube and link it to twitter, Fb, etc.

Maybe they should send a mail to every seller to voluntarily give them a short video of their best model.

If Cgtrader is a good site, then we should not need to do that kind of advertising. We advertise on Cgtrader; Cgtrader should advertise on search engines and else.

Bruno Oliveira, it's quite weird, you think CGTrader is not a good site but you sell (obviously) only on CGTrader is rather paradoxical.
