Turbosquid Squidguild penalty for creating content before 30 day cooldown is over?

Discussion started by cgtrader214

What is the penalty for creating and selling content on CG Trader during the 30-day cooldown period after you leave squidguild?

Are you simply banned from Turbosquid? Or do they go after you for monetary damages and make a claim to your earnings on other sites?

Don't forget there is also a 12 months period for checkmate models after you published them.

They can take your accumulated earnings or simply ban you. If you decide to go in war with them, then almost certainly you'll be the side that gonna lose. But seriously, it looks like you already spend ten days in searching for answer, wouldn't be better just quit the guild and wait for the cooldown period is over? It's just a 30 days, not a nine years.

Seems impossible to me,
As far as I know, you are the owner of your work and do with it as you like, unless you have agreed to something ells.

Just read the user agreement you have signed, if it does not mention anything specifically about a penalty and detailed description of its form, then they can say whatever, it will not have legal power outside of that agreement, maybe just some psychological effect.

ok, I do not understand very well, but as far as nobody can force you to sell or not sell something that you are creating, at least in this type of pages, although you have accepted to be exclusive seller of one or another page. At least for me, clicking on "I accept the terms and conditions" does not really have a strong legal validity.

context?

I'm asking hypothetically, it doesn't matter in any event because I just don't have time these days to 3D model anything, let alone sell it on other sites. When I asked livechat about leaving squidguild on turbosquid they told me about the cool down period and basically said don't sell on other sites for 30 days "or else". I just wanted clarification on the "or else" part. Should be simple thing to answer, no? They told me they would have someone reply next-day. It's been a few days now and each day I ask their livechat agents, the story changes. Now they're saying "This had to be escalated so expect it to take more time before you receive a reply". So, who knows?
