The importance of Image Renders.

Discussion started by flat-3d

I always like to have good image renders to present my 3d models. I have decided to make all future renders of my 3d models of a higher resolution and quality. This does increase rendering times but I believe this is needed to promote models and increase the chance of potential buyers making a purchase. This is what my future sizes will be: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-models/architectural-interior/house/pottery-and-glassware-vases-and-bowls

With so much choice for 3d model buyers I think every aspect of presentation counts, images, description, price, format are all important and could make the difference between buyers choosing one over another.
For a standard client architectural exterior visualisation I will render at 3200 x 1600 and for this type of use, buyers may want to see more detail so my 3d model render previews at 1600 x 900 are just half of this.
For anyone who's interested here's a related blog on resolution which shows a good demonstration of resolution/size/detail and distance:

I agree with you but I don't think they need to be high resolution. I think they need to be high enough to show your product and to show the quality of it. I am not sure if that translate in more sales but as customer I would say the more you show me of the quality of the product the better for you and me.
