Thanks for all your comments. I didn't expect to get such a big response. I'm from New Zealand by the way. Was born in Russia but lived in NZ for 24 years now so my Russian is not the best especially when it comes to reading it :)
Sales completely dropped off in March

Hi, just wandering if anybody is experiencing a huge drop in sales for this month. I used to make a sale every 2 to 3 days but this month there has been no sales for the past 18 days. I noticed on Turbosquid I have no such issue with the sales continuing to come in regularly so wandering what could be going on with this website.

Same here. Activity on cgtrader dropped off dramatically, yet situation remains stable on other marketplaces. Maybe cgtrader for some reason is more vulnerable to changes in global economic situation, while other marketplaces are more inert, but eventually recession will hit them too? I hope not, but we will see. Anyways, prospects doesn't look good.
Non-material (creative) market reaction to events like pandemic or stock market collapse is usually more or less elastic. Here we faced with "on/off" dropping even before different governments started silliness like closing the borders, national wide quarantines etc. So I'm more close to opinion about CGtrader's "wrong" (definitely for all of us WRONG) internal actions.
And the same bitter situation was in the end of 2019. In November and December of 2019 hasn't any global reasons for sales collapse.
What ever it is, I think the whole world is the same boat now and its catching up with everyone. Our government just announced the whole country to go into lock down today.
В Сербии тотальный коллапс уже с прошлого понедельника. Я из своего села даже до ближайшего города не могу доехать (автобусы отменили), коммендантский час был с 8 вечера до пяти утра, но с сегодняшнего дня его расширили и теперь запрещено выходить из дома с 5 дня до 5 утра. Такие дела. Тем не менее, я уже много раз говорил: падение просмотров моделей и продаж здесь началось ещё до того, как правительства начали дурковать и закрывать границы и до того, как начали рушиться рынки. И примерно совпало с участившимися жалобами на ежедневные глюки и баги на CGtrader'е. Так что дело всё-таки скорее не в кризисе мировом, а в ёбнутости маркетологов CGT (которые видимо не могут поставить цель и сбалансировать механизмы выдачи и сортировки так, чтобы те, у кого не 300000 моделей, имели шанс быть увиденными и что-то продать), а также в круворуких админах, которые, блядь, как последние ушлёпки что-то меняют на серверах по-живому, тестируя получившееся говно не в песочнице, а на живом трафике и на своих пользователях. Турбосквид лишился уймы продавцов из-за своей жадности, а CGT лишится всех ничтяков, которые заслужил за последние пару-тройку лет из-за своей тупости (вангую).

Well recession is near and fk covid, so what do you expect...
The point is that sales/views dropped weeks before all corona-panic and market crash. And may be it's just coincidence but in the same time with sales coma started everyday CGT issues with "uploading error", appearing/disappearing notifications etc.
And today I noticed new bug on CGT all "+" near the users messages on the forum are turned to "-".

BTW: As a creator do you still get the full price during the sale, does CGT reimburse the rest of the price?
no, but one can decide if he/she want to participate in a sale and set how big discount should be.
If you're a buyer, you don't have to wait for sales time. You can simply make an offer on the seller's page mate.

The start of March was as usual 2/3 model sales per day. After the first week when countries started going on lockdown, my sales fell dramatically. They appear to be picking back up again now. I can only assume that a lot of people took the first week of "lockdown" as a holiday thinking this thing wouldn't last. It is my guess that these coming weeks will be higher than normal due to people(game-devs) having more time to work on things at home instead of going out.
Stay safe all. Better to be modelling than to be measured up.

Looks like you are right, its weird. When will expire that 50% discount on marketplace, I cant find any info on that?

I got a message from marketing departement, that this discount is only warm-up, once 1 millionth model milestone will be reached, they launch massive "up to 70% discounts" campaign.

Agreed. My estimation of April was completely wrong lol. I've had my worst month ever on here. Sketchfab is keeping my moral alive at the moment but they're all small sales of $3-5 a time... No sales at all on 3D Export, and very few on Cults either.
