Sooo no one asked for the "pay to win" feature of promotions, since we already have been ripped by CGtrader by removing reputation and resetting the royalties rates, but sure. I tried this silly new feature of promoting, and guess what, after being pending for a while, they were all declined, with no reason specified, no email, no notification. Does anyone else experience the same issue?
CG Trade is plagued by issues regarding accountability and commitments. Is it immaturity or shady business practices? Your percentage drops even though they are the ones responsible for the sales—does that make any sense?
You join a partnership promotion offering 30–50% off, but in the end, there aren't any significant sales, and you walk away with less than 30% of your product's value.
Sometimes I sell 3 or 4 items, yet another platform yields better results with just a single sale.
Since we now have to rely on annual average sales, to get anywhere near our previous earnings, what single sales figure is the most useful to us on the sales page? The average sales figure. Which was until last month shown clearly on the sales graph. Now it has been removed. As if it is telling us, we don't want you to know that we are screwing you, and you will never achieve the half decent rate that we used to give. We already want to charge you a fee to advertise using "promotions" because the amount we take isn't nearly enough for us. What's next? Are we going to see a gradual creep down to the TS 40% blanket level? Higher payment FEES? Another MAJOR bone of contention; Those fees were excessive before the drop in royalty payments, and now they are down right insulting to our intelligence.
30%, 50%, super 70%, all that's missing is the clown nose.
I'm a marketing professional with over 30 years of experience specializing in behavior. This exaggerated practice was common in the 80s when interest rates were compatible with this reality.
I left these promotions, tried partnering with and believing in CGTrade, but it's far from reality and even leaves an air of exploitation... I was sad. I believe that more than 70% here are young students trying to achieve a dream, selling many items in these promotions, which doesn't happen because of buying behavior, not because of the effort of CGTrade and the artists, but because of the market.
Participants in these promotions who sell something barely receive 1/4 of the value, insufficient even to cover costs. And what effort does CGTrade put in? They have already REDUCED OUR EARNINGS, in my case from 74% to 65%, and I still have to work even harder to get back to 74%? CGTRADE is already making 9% MORE and still doesn't lose anything on promotions; they continue to receive their percentage regardless of the value. And what kind of investment is that, with so much money left over for CGTRADE, when we rarely sell (at a loss) the item more than once? This is very grotesque on the part of this company. But if you think all this is rosy, go to the circus and try living happily ever after with a clown nose.
I have tested these promotions and they don´t help in sales. Reason is a weird search algorithm on CGT. Had a discussion about with CGT but they show me different search results than I see when searching for models, even if we search via "Best Results", thus "exact search", thus the only what a potential buyer is using when seraching for a SPECIFIC model. So, promotions will not override their weird search algorithm and that´s why they are pointless.
It would be better to make things better, to improve weaknesses, such as the weird search algo, as to provide new "features", that don´w properly work due to these weaknesses. Pointless.
Don´t care about the promotions anymore, it´s just eyewashing and distraction from problems on CGT.
I tried to test out my free model and got back (eventually) 15 fifteen... count em! replies in a row declining it saying this:-
"Unfortunately, your promotion for Hole where CGTraders integrity used to be has been declined by our moderation team. Please review our Content Policy to ensure future promotions meet the required guidelines."
I wonder if the name is the problem? Seriously CGTrader, if you are going to rip off thousands of people, then you need to expect some backlash, and at the very least grow a sense of humour.
The same situation without any reason.
Even like a test, this "improvement" doesn't work.
So far I only see that some promoted models only mess up some search results.
For example in "train" search result you can see sponsored result like medieval town.
Or in "car" search result you can see components like spark plug which is not the right thing to get when searching for "car" as whole vehicle.
In my case I did the best promotion for my models which I could do - I disabled discounts. )))
