Metaio's Augmented Reality Software and 3D Modeling

Greetings everyone.  I'm interested in comments from people who have done 3D modeling for use with Metaio's Creator/SDK.  Is there a particular 3D modeling platform that meshes best, or better than others, with Metaio's software? 

The reason I ask is that I have organized an AR project at a cultural site in Florida and am looking for personnel to assist with the work, however 3D modeling is not my expertise, so I need some assistance on what type of person/skills would work best.  I apologize for my lack of specificity due to ignorance of 3D modeling.
