Introducing the New CGTrader Referral Program: Earn More with Your Models!

Discussion started by JuditaCGTrader

Hi everyone,

We're excited to announce a fantastic new way to boost your earnings on CGTrader! The new Referral Program is now live, and it’s designed to reward you for bringing new customers to the platform.

How It Works

It's simple! Share your unique referral link with potential buyers through your website, social media, or any other channel. When a new user signs up to CGTrader through your link and purchases any of your profile's 3D items, you'll get a higher payout rate.

Here are the key details:

- 85% Payout Rate: For every sale from a buyer you referred, you'll receive an 85% payout.
- One Year of Benefits: This special payout rate applies to all purchases made by the referred buyer from your profile's 3D items for a full 12 months.

Why You'll Love It

- Highest Possible Payout Rate: Enjoy the best possible payout rate on the platform for the sales you generate.
- Reward for Your Efforts: Get rewarded for the traffic you bring to your CGTrader products.
- Easy to Use: Simply share your unique link and watch your earnings grow.

Ready to start earning more? Grab your unique referral link from your dashboard here: https://www.cgtrader.com/profile/sales#referrals and start sharing it with your network.

This program is a great way for our talented community of 3D artists to maximise their earnings. For full terms and conditions, please visit: https://help.cgtrader.com/hc/en-us/articles/35430275704465-How-Referrals-Work-on-CGTrader.

Sorry, but this is the most ridiculous and useless referral program i have ever see anywhere. So you're saying i'll have to find a person who don't yet have an account on cgtrader and convince him to buy model from me all year round? MUHAHAHA What a joke!

Isn't the reason we sell 3D models on CGTrader because CGTrader will find the customer? In other words, we, the model designers, will not look for customers, CGTrader will find the customers and sales will be made, profit will be made. If I understand correctly, they are saying, you find your customers and bring them, I will make money. This is complete nonsense.
"wh1t3h4ck5" explained it very well, no more needs to be said.
As new regulations and conditions were made, my sales decreased.
I strongly recommend going back to the old ways.

I'll not bring anyone here for sure. Not even for a 105% of royalty. Honor once lost is never regained. Some people don't exchange morality for profit, especially not for the benefit of those who don't deserve it.

Btw, instead of sending someone here to purchase my model(s), why wouldn't I give them my bank account, paypal or whatever and take all 100% of what I sold. In addition, that way I earn 100% and have NO RISK that they will see someone else's models and purchase them instead of mine. Your way: 85% of money and RISK! My way: 100% of money RISK FREE! Brilliant idea, amazing plan, as expected!

What makes you think I hate my customers?
Under these conditions, it's easier for me to sell them a product via email for 100% royalty.

Btw, will I get an answer to my question that I asked twice in tech support and Twitter, regarding my region?

I have taken the consequence and deleted all my designs and have put them up for sale on another site.
I will not accept the new rules.

@SilverBlue, Isn't Cult3D for 3D printing models ONLY!? We can't sell all models there. Heard they have great clients-base but also all I could find about them is that they are exclusively selling 3D print models. By my experience best ones: Fab (former SketchFab, works with ArtStation; payout via Hyperwallet) and SuperHiveMarket (former BlenderMarket - blender file must be native format, payout via PayPal). Both take verification of each model after publishing which doesn't take much time. Worth to try: RenderHub (rare place where you can also sell adult content, a lot of Daz3D models; 55% start royalty and you need 200 models for 70%), 3DExport have 70% start royalty and don't know if that's fixed. Both support PayPal. Have not much sales at them but they generate some revenue after all. Places to avoid: Envato (under Shutterstock - complicated, a lot of spam, bad support, not trustworthy at all), FlipNormals (easy to use but very low traffic, almost none), CubeBrush (same as FN but they require to verify credit card before even start to sell and their explanation why is very fishy). Haven't tried other platforms.

Thanks for the run down @wh1t3h4ck5, I was considering FN but now you speak about traffic im a bit hesitant. I sell on TS as well and get lots of traffic there compared to here but obviously the 40% is horrible if you don't go exclusive. But they give 60% if you do... when doing the numbers I think its still the better option after CGT changed their royalties. Shame but better than scraping pennies here. Still on the fence for now, ill keep my eye out.

@3DCargo, I've been using FlipNormals for some time but uploaded just like 20-25 models there for testing. After few months all my models there had 5 views at best. Mostly none or 1. That website looks good, uploads are not complicated, no verification, but what matters the most... no clients at all. The best you can do is to upload your models everywhere and gather money combined. Also, establish own website (which can be expensive if you need big storage) and of course, facebook/instagram and other social networks. You can also promote your models on youtube, pinterest twitter (X), etc. After 6 years 40% of my total sales come from direct sales through social networks. I don't know about stats at CGT but according to my sales dropping rapidly here and noticeable increase of traffic at other platforms my best guess is that CGT is losing audience. Answer to the most important question "what platform is the best" is simple - none! All have few pros and many more cons. This one has been among better ones before June 2nd. And I'm sure they won't return to right track ever again.

Your new reform failed lol. My boyfriend and I had zero sales in June on cgtrader. And there were a lot of sales in May, as well as in April and March.

You can pay for new boost feature. I've tried that for a few days and got 0 sales and 2 views on my best selling model (until recently I could sell it 5 times in approx 7 days). So everything works as designed, takes money out of you and that's CGT's goal.

"Yes, we already take up to 40% of your profits for basically hosting a platform and not much else.
But wait, we also want you to find clients, have them sign up and then give us 15% of that..
For doing what, you ask?
Don't worry. Just focus on giving us that 15%.
Good talk. Alright, see ya."

This will not work out.
I am anxious CGT :-(
Is this a typical desperate last move before dying?
I hope not, but you give us a feeling that it is so...............................................

because of last sales yesterday I was upgraded to 64%, today downgraded to 63% again since the period is shifting = "based on last 12 months".
Looks like bad business for sellers even if it was intended by CGT to stop repution points by uploads from users with AI contents.
The loosers are human sellers.

Yep I Love It!
1. I no longer upload new models to this "platform"
2. I refused to participate in discount programs
3. I do not participate in this scam program "Awaiting payment from buyer"
When I have free time, I will remove links to this platform from my site.
