Imagine you are a customer... would you trust your money on somebody who is calling himself BlindBandit? ; )

; ) PauloRider looks better. Now the only thing left is to make a great portfolio that will show the customer you are good enough to do the job.

First you need to have a portfolio and work that will show your skills.

Doesn't the image gallery work as a portfolio?

The image gallery here doesn't really get that much attention as far as I know, and a product page is like an image gallery too except you're also showing off more information about each specific model. Product pages can show production renders of each model you made, plus wireframes and all sorts of other material about each creation. It's a much better way to sell yourself as a freelance artist, IMO.

@luxxeon that's a great idea, how do you make them?

Looks like you have a few products already. You just need to include some more preview renders of those products and maybe some wireframes or turntable animations. The page that your product appears on will show all those supplementary images to help sell your model. This is basically a gallery for that model and a way to show off your skills.

What I noticed was that they are paying way too low for what they ask. Like full characters at blizzard level, textured and rigged for... $50, or high quality full detail modern vehicles in both high and low poly for $50 as well, etc.

I wouldn't care not getting jobs at those rates (unless I'm missing something).

Yeah some jobs are pretty low, but at least the competition here isn't as high as other freelance sites?

Well, to be completely blunt with you, I went on to your profile and I don't see any amazing looking works/products, so if I were a customer, I would've seen your application, went over to your profile and got out in less than one minute.
I myself haven't applied to more then 3 (I think) jobs in here, but those I have applied to I also have gotten. As someone has already said, people are asking for shitty prices here. I mean stuff that I'd normally ask $2,000 people want for $100 or even less, and I'm like "yeah sure buddy, you find yourself an amateur who'd do that".

One other thing is how you present yourself. Your profile image, and especially your description make me thing you're just a beginner or hobbyist who's happy if he gets any kind of work. Perhaps that's actually the case, but people don't need to know that. You need to make yourself look bigger and more important than you actually are, even if indeed you just somebody who's doing some Blender work from their bedroom.

Remember, people see only what you let them see.

Hmm, well I'll be working on adding more models now and that'll probably help with practice too. Thanks for the advice
