I recently noticed the new **“Create with AI”** feature on CGTrader, and honestly, I’m curious about how the team sees this developing alongside the existing creator marketplace.
As creators, we spend months and years building our portfolios and producing models that buyers come to CGTrader specifically to purchase. With an AI tool that can generate and download 3D models directly from the platform especially while it’s currently available as a free trial I’m wondering:
* How does CGTrader see AI generation affecting the existing creator marketplace?
* Will AI-generated models eventually compete directly with creator-uploaded models?
* Most importantly, **were any creator-uploaded models or marketplace data used to train the AI model?** If so, how were creators informed and what options do they have?
I’m not against AI or new tools technology evolves, and I think AI can be extremely useful. But I do think creators deserve transparency about how these tools are developed and how they will coexist with the community that built the marketplace.
Would also be interested to hear what other creators think about this.
