CGT's New Royalty Policy: A Blow to Independent Sellers

Discussion started by Kilutica3D

I didn't initially realize the impact of CGT’s rolling 365-day royalty evaluation, but now it’s clear—my royalty rate has dropped by 8-10%. Over the years, I worked on projects here, and I accepted the commission increase from 5% to 15%, believing that CGT was a reliable platform. However, with this latest change, the system feels increasingly unstable.

CGT points that I earned throughout my time here now seem meaningless. What is supposed to be a predictable earnings structure is instead shifting unpredictably, making it harder for individuals to thrive. I wonder if I should have invested my efforts into my own website instead of dedicating time to promoting CGT.

That being said, I’m grateful for the opportunities CGT has given me, and I acknowledge the income I’ve earned here, likely more than I would have on other platforms. However, as much as I appreciate the past, I must prepare for the future. Change is inevitable, and I will no longer rely solely on CGT for my income. If my sales do not increase within the next year, I will need to transition my business to a more stable and self-sufficient platform.

I am an individual creator, not a corporation, and this change disproportionately affects independent sellers like me. I urge CGT to reconsider the impact of these decisions on its loyal community.
