"Author Files" would be a great option I guess. I had a disaster strike last week when we had a power cut during a Windows update restart...Typical!
Corrupted my HD, thought I had lost all my stuff on it lol.

If had, this would have been a God send. Luckily I didn't.

You have been lucky then. Had such a case several years ago made me get rid of lots of my photographs and other important stuff and chkdsk and it's parameters were no big help... - Became a maniac for making copies since then.

I bought a new drive and installed the corrupt one as a second drive to look through it. The only thing I found corrupted on it was the recycle bin lol. I'm sure there will be a few corrupt files in windows directories as well, but who cares about those? I got all my stuff back but had to spend an entire day "fixing" my new windows install and re-installing all my software. My biggest concern was I have almost finished another book I was writing that I hadn't backed up anywhere else haha ...until now :D

Still a menace... - good you did not loose your work. Big lesson to learn is too keep the operating system on a physical different data storage. I had used partitions back then.

I have several PCs on this server, I was just always too lazy to sync them lol. Now I'm using an SSD for programs and a SATA for storage :D
