IPA Spray Bottle

IPA Spray Bottle 3D print model

Description

So I have these tiny little spray bottles that came with my last order of anhydrous IPA that I use for cleaning print beds and maintenance cleaning.

They drive me crazy. They are so small. So tiny. Love the spray pump, they work great, but the bottles are far too small, I have to refill them every day and it gets annoying.

So I made a slightly bigger one to hold more liquid. The threads match these little standard spray caps as seen in the pictures, which have an outer diameter of 27.2 mm.

I used PTFE tubing to extend the straw. Just happens to fit perfectly.

You can see the full specs on the technical drawing pdf, but it holds 0.3222 Liters of liquid.

I may make a slightly larger one soon as well, but if it is too heavy it is not comfortable to hold while using that style of spray cap. This one is a decent size though and fits well in my hand and feels easy to grip. I like it.

3D printing settingsI recommend using PETG, especially if you plan to use this for IPA like I do. PETG will not react to IPA.

To ensure it is water tight, I recommend bumping your flow up quite a bit. The filament I use was originally manually calibrated with a flow of 0.914-ish; I had to set it to 1.0 for garunteed water tight printing. But so far I have consistently printed 3 of these that way, and they hold water perfectly right off the plate.

Also I noticed that using a concentric fill pattern on the bottom layer, helps prevent leaks from the bottom.

I used a 0.16 layer hight with a .4 nozzle.

I run my petg pretty hot, around 265 for good layer adhesion, but for this model I also slowed it down to a max of 100mm/s. My theory is that slower speeds increase chances of success for making water tight objects. So far it has been working better than printing at 300mm\s.
