Uses a thick TPU seal. Food safe material recommended. I used PETG.You also of course want to make sure print quality is dialed in.Looks great printed on patterned build plates.
3D printing settings:
Use PETG or other material that is safe for food contact. Seal is TPU.Left and Right handed models included.Print lid facing top down with concentric fill pattern on top surfaces for best results. The logo on top of the lid is totally optional. If you don't want it to show just don't paint the top at all and it will print it as a single solid-color first layer. Also the TPU seal should be printed with concentric top and bottom surfaces in order to form a proper seal.I printed the TPU seal with 2 wall lines and like 15% gyroid infill and it seems to seal well at 4mm thickness, without being too difficult to loosen(which was the case with earlier prototypes that used a thin 1mm seal.)
And of course you want your TPU super dry or it will be stringy and have all kinds of defects that will affect its ability to create a seal.
For the lid I recommend at least 3 wall lines, I used 4 just in case. Also I recommend 6 top and bottom layers, to minimize creep on the top of the lid. Previous versions had a lot of creep on the top from the heat and the pressure of the glass making a tight seal, which caused the top to sort of bubble out slightly. But I have updated it so the top is thicker for more structural stability which seems to have fixed the issue. But I would still recommend 6 top and bottom layers to give it as much body as possible to prevent creep.
