An exceptionally detailed, highly accurate 1:1 scale replica of the advanced Russian PTKM-1R top-attack smart anti-tank mine, engineered specifically for modern technical training, EOD/UXO identification, and advanced classroom instruction.
FDM (Standard 256mm x 256mm build volumes will comfortably accommodate the modular sections of the Mine body).
This premium model kit includes both full external replicas and highly detailed structural cutaway versions, providing an unprecedented look into one of the most sophisticated tactical systems deployed in modern peer-to-peer conflicts.
The PTKM-1R represents a massive jump in ordnance technology, operating more like a self-contained acoustic and infrared missile launcher than a traditional buried mine. This 3D printable training aid meticulously recreates every intricate subsystem, allowing instructors to demonstrate exactly how the deployable acoustic petals, acoustic-IR sensor package, and the independent top-attack submunition combat element function.
Key Features:Dual-Version Kit: Includes the Full Solid Assembly (ideal for field identification, tripwire/sensor positioning, and deployment handling training) and a Mechanical Cutaway (for internal classroom instruction on smart sensor arrays).
Articulated Acoustic Petals: The base launcher assembly features the iconic spring-loaded greenhouse petals that fold out to stabilize the launcher upright when deployed in the field.
Dual-Mode Sensor Architecture: Detailed replicas of both the acoustic sensor ears (used to detect and track the audio frequency of approaching heavy armor) and the directional infrared (IR) sensor pod.
Top-Attack Submunition Element: Recreates the cylindrical submunition flight capsule housed inside the launcher, complete with its independent sensor windows and the concaved Misznay-Schardin explosive cavity shape exposed in the cutaway view.
Historical Context & Modern ServiceIntroduced relatively recently by Russian defense manufacturers, the PTKM-1R is a paradigm shift in off-route and wide-area interdiction. Unlike older static landmines, a single PTKM-1R can monitor a wide radius, detecting target vehicles from a significant distance using its acoustic array.
Operational Mechanics: When an armored vehicle approaches within its target envelope, the acoustic sensors track the noise signature. Once the target enters the kill zone, the launcher fires the submunition capsule high into the air. The airborne capsule uses its integrated IR sensors to lock onto the high-heat signature of the tank's engine deck or turret roof, detonating its warhead downward through the vehicle's thinnest armor.
Recent Deployment History: The PTKM-1R saw its first active, documented combat deployments during the post-2022 escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. Western and Ukrainian EOD teams have frequently encountered them deployed in strategic choke points to deny transit to main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers, making it one of the highest-priority targets for modern UXO recognition and clearance training.

3D printing settingsPrinter Type: FDM (Standard 256mm x 256mm build volumes will comfortably accommodate the modular sections of the Mine body).
Material: PLA or PETG for general structural components; TPU for Rubber gaskets.
Layer Height: 0.2mm for the main rocket body segments; 0.12mm - 0.16mm for the fine details on the MJ-1 nose fuze, internal striking mechanism, and the base nozzles.
Infill: 15% - 20% Gyroid for the main body walls; 35% or higher for the base plate to handle structural assembly compression.
Supports: Minimal supports needed. Use a Interface Layer IE PETG With PLASprings and servos are place holders only do not print
Finishing & Assembly Notes:Painting Guide: Paint the exterior launcher assembly and petals in standard Russian dark olive drab. For the cutaway view, paint the outer casing walls bright red, the internal electronic boards/battery compartments crisp white or green, the top-attack submunition internal charge yellow, and the sensor lenses glossy black or metallic silver to signify optical glass.
When in doubt about a color or items location use the provided renders
Markings: Apply stenciled white or yellow lot numbers, factory stamps, and tracking decals on the outer hull of the launcher to maximize realism for training identification
