DESCRIPTION

1/1800th scale Cimarron-class Oiler model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Cimarron-class oilers were American fast fleet oilers built from 1938–1945 to support underway replenishment operations for the U.S. Navy. Thirty-five ships were completed, and only two were lost during World War II despite operating close to frontline fleets. Armament varied between groups: early ships generally carried four 5-inch/38 guns, twin 40 mm mounts, and twin 20 mm anti-aircraft guns, while later ships used a lighter main battery arrangement with one 5-inch gun and four 3-inch guns alongside similar AA weapons.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
