1/1800th scale Matsu Class Destroyer model. Certain elements not to scale.
The Matsu-class destroyers were simplified Japanese escort destroyers built from 1943–1945 for faster wartime production. Eighteen were completed, and 8 were lost during the war. Their standard armament was three 127 mm Type 89 dual-purpose guns (one twin and one single mount), one quadruple 610 mm torpedo launcher for Type 93 “Long Lance” torpedoes, depth charges, and 25 mm anti-aircraft guns; later ships often carried larger AA batteries and radar. The class marked a shift away from Japan’s earlier high-performance destroyers toward cheaper, mass-produced escort vessels.
This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.
