1/10
1/1800th scale V class destroyer model. Certain elements not to scale.
The U and V-class destroyers were Royal Navy destroyers built from 1941–1944 under the War Emergency Programme, with 16 ships completed across two flotillas. Only one ship, HMS Hardy, was lost during the war, giving the class an unusually high survival rate. Their original armament consisted of four 120 mm (4.7 in) guns, two quadruple 533 mm torpedo tube mounts, twin 40 mm Bofors guns, 20 mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft guns, and depth charges; many later received anti-submarine refits with updated sensors and weapons. Four ships of the class—Venus, Verulam, Vigilant, and Virago—helped ambush and sink the Japanese heavy cruiser Haguro in 1945.
This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.
This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.
Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
