144 Iowa Class Battleship","price":50.0,"description":"The Iowa Class battleships were at the pinnacle of US Navy fast battleship design when they were eclipsed by aircraft carriers during WWII. They never encountered Japan’s Yamato class battleships but they did bombard the Japanese home islands and provided anti-aircraft support in fending off Kamikaze attacks. Four of these battleships were completed and all are museums today. They are USS Iowa (BB-61), USS New Jersey (BB-62), USS Missouri (BB-63) and USS Wisconsin (BB-64). The USS Missouri was the site of the Japan’s formal surrender in Tokyo Bay on Sept 2, 1945. The USS Missouri was also featured in the movies “Under Siege (1992)” and “Battleship (2012)”.\n\nThe model is depicted as it appeared during WWII (1945) and photographs/videos of the USS Missouri was used as reference. Scale details include twenty quad Bofors anti-aircraft units and fifty 20mm Oerlikon guns. The three primary battery turrets rotate with elevating 16 inch guns. The ten secondary battery turrets also rotate with elevating 5 inch guns.\n\nFor RC operation, a motor cradle for four 380 type Mabuchi brushed motors and a rudder servo mount are supplied. \nThe main superstructure is removable for access to the RC electronics. \nFor a 1/144 scale 3D printable model, the hull is divided into 12 sections. The height of each hull section ranges from 160 – 180 mm and should fit a 3D printer with 250 x 250 mm volume. The main super structure levels are also divided into sections that would fit a 250 x 250mm bed. \n\nAll stl files were sliced in Cura v 5.10 and test printed\n\nThe model dimensions are: 1823 x 244 x 376 mm\n","imageAlt":"robotics 1 144 Iowa Class Battleship 3D print model","url":"https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/robotics/1-144-iowa-class-battleship","isCLDApplicable":false,"isSaleOffApplicable":true,"gaAttributes":{},"primaryImage":{"gridFallbackUrl":"https://media.cgtrader.com/variants/q4uf8butnzmm04fbk4jv7rq3zmh5/a26e47dab5f2d22c43d6c5ce4b4b46ecc30c70918878397cba1a10c1e35d7bfc/00_IowaClass.jpg","gridUrl":"https://media.cgtrader.com/variants/q4uf8butnzmm04fbk4jv7rq3zmh5/78add9c2f02fbd73a43ffb3970be38683c5f15eff6ca849dc78c644f4ff9ce1b/00_IowaClass.webp","isAdultContent":false},"modelInfo":{"modelUrl":"https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/robotics/1-144-iowa-class-battleship","isCgtVerified":true,"types":{"printReady":true,"animated":false,"pbr":false,"rigged":false,"lowPoly":false}},"metaverseFormatsList":[{"id":100,"name":".pdf","is_native":false},{"id":14,"name":".skp","is_native":false},{"id":51,"name":".stl","is_native":false},{"id":null,"name":null,"is_native":false}],"categorySlug":"hobby-diy","subcategorySlug":"robotics","categoryTitle":"Hobby \u0026 DIY","subcategoryTitle":"RC \u0026 Robotics","schemaImageUrl":"https://img-new.cgtrader.com/items/5660643/fd6323d95e/1-144-iowa-class-battleship-3d-model-fd6323d95e.webp","saleOffDiscount":50,"eligibleForSubscription":false,"subscriptionSubscribed":false,"subscriptionPotential":false,"subscriptionTierBand":null}},{"id":"2396873","type":"listingItem","attributes":{"id":2396873,"title":"1 72 Fletcher Class Destroyer RC Model","price":50.0,"description":"Fletcher Class Destroyers were the US Navy's workhorses during WWII. Certain elements not to scale.\n\nThe Cimarron-class oilers were American fast fleet oilers built from 1938–1945 to support underway replenishment operations for the U.S. Navy. Thirty-five ships were completed, and only two were lost during World War II despite operating close to frontline fleets. Armament varied between groups: early ships generally carried four 5-inch/38 guns, twin 40 mm mounts, and twin 20 mm anti-aircraft guns, while later ships used a lighter main battery arrangement with one 5-inch gun and four 3-inch guns alongside similar AA weapons.\n\nThis model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. Battleship model. Certain elements not to scale.\n\nFour South Dakota Class battleships were commissioned by the US Navy in 1942. They sported nine 16 inch guns and an array of secondary armament. They were more space efficient than their predecessor class, the North Carolina class, which allowed them to be smaller while still having better armor. The battleships saw service throughout the war in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.\n\nThere are two surviving South Dakota Class ships; USS Massachusetts, and USS Alabama.\n\nThis is a free sample of my South Dakota-class model. It approximately represents the USS Indiana.\n\nThis model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.\n\nThis is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.\n\nUpdated version: Solidified large-caliber AA gun mounts. Optimized certain elements in the superstructure for 3D printing. Added float-plane recovery crane. \n\n19 Sep 18: Fixed architecture issues that caused problems in some slicers.\n18 Nov 18: Improved model with newer style protocols.\n09 Sep 19: Added boats and anchor chains.
