DESCRIPTION

1/1800th scale SS Ohio Tanker Ship model. Certain elements not to scale.

The SS Ohio was an American oil tanker built in 1939–1940 for Texaco. She was heavily armed for a merchant vessel, carrying a 5-inch gun, a 3-inch anti-aircraft gun, one 40 mm Bofors, and six 20 mm Oerlikon cannons after wartime modifications. Ohio survived repeated torpedo, bomb, and crash attacks during the 1942 Operation Pedestal convoy to Malta. Ohio reached Malta with her hull effectively broken and had to be held up by destroyers lashed alongside her, becoming one of the most famous merchant ships of World War II. Unfortunately, she was so badly damaged that she never sailed again and was scuttled after unloading her cargo.

This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.

Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
