1/1800th scale Chitose class aircraft carrier model. Certain elements not to scale.

The Chitose-class aircraft carriers were built as seaplane tenders in 1934–1938 and converted into light aircraft carriers in 1943–1944 after Japan's carrier losses at Midway. Only two ships were completed, Chitose and Chiyoda, and both were lost during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944. As carriers they were armed with eight 127 mm Type 89 dual-purpose guns and about thirty 25 mm Type 96 anti-aircraft guns, with later wartime additions increasing the AA battery; they carried around 30 aircraft.
