A 3d printable K-36 Ejection Seat as used in various Soviet era Combat aircraft, such as Mig-29, Su-24, 27, 35, Yak-38 and others. Designed for use 1/48th scale and larger. Includes versions with & without straps. Also included is a modified version, (slightly shorter than the normal version) with a replacement cockpit tub specifically designed to fit the 1/48 Academy Mig-29a kit. For this, Just use the kit instrument panel and stick. This one fits directly in the place of the original tub and seat. It may fit other kits. I have not tested. Note that this file is a slightly different size to the standalone seat, to make it fit in the undersized cockpit space of the Academy kit. This version has files with and without straps, and as separate Tub & seat. Scroll down the file list and look for ACADEMY in the filename.
Separate files includes spare handles, bulkhead rail, and leg restraints, and a version with no straps and or rail.
TIPS. Please read before buying:- *The model was designed to be RESIN printed. * You may be able to use FDM printing if you are printing larger scales, for RC aircraft etc, but I have not tested in this format.
The model is built using real world dimensions in Metres. Most slicers use mm, so the initial imported model will be tiny, because 1 model unit = 1m but the slicer = 1mm. Set this right using the scale option set to Uniform Scaling. If your cockpit is underscale, you will need to compensate. Take note of the dimension the slicer gives you at a set scale and reduce your scale accordingly.
This model was designed for use in 1/48th scale upwards. Smaller scales may work, but have not been tried. For best results, add supports manually to avoid losing detail. It is recommended to use as small layer thickness as possible, and to turn OFF any image Blurring & Anti-Aliasing if possible, especially for smaller scales. Using these thins the already delicate detail too much.
Do not allow your slicer to carry out repairs. These are unnecessary & will cause problems in your print.
Scale Settings: Useful scale settings: For 1/72th, Scale = 1388.888%. For 1/48th, Scale = 2083.333% . For 1/32th, Scale = 3125.000%.For 1/24th, Scale = 4166.666%
How to calculate this percentage for the slicer without knowing the model dimensions. First we know that the model unit is 1m, and has been interpreted by the slicer as 1mm. 1m = 1000mm, so to get the right scale, divide 1000 by your scale. EG 1000 divided by 48 = 20.83333. Now multiply the result by 100 because we need a percentage. The final result is 2083.333 as shown above. All other scales use the same formula.
