Black Friday just 30% off ? Last year was 50% wasn't it?

CGTrader gives 30% discount all over the year .. I was expecting a 50% for Black Friday. Big disappointment. No need to rush buying anything then.

I must say that if there was 50% off, I would turn off discounts in my profile. So maybe CGT understand that with 30% off there will be more accounts with discounts than with 50% which is for many artists absolutelly unacceptable.

In real shops with real commodities the black friday isn't also so great deal. In many cases it's only marketing trick.

?? What ? On Unity Asset Store (which right now is at a 50% discount on most assets for Black Friday), Epic Games Unreal Engine Marketplace the discounts have always been 30% to 90% depending on seller with an average above 50% on Summer Sale and Black Friday... Last year on Black Friday thanks to 50% discount I bought more than $300 on CGTrader alone. Now I won't have to rush buying anything. Not for developers but general public... on Steam games are discounted heavily at 50% or more too. And about non-digital stuff... Amazon usually discounts 50% some good hardware like expensive SSD on all its shops, and yes they discount a lot of bad products too but I doubt they would increase sales of garbage stuff with such a trick.... most people buy as hotcakes the best discounted products anyway. And a 30% discount on CGTrader on biggest sales of the year being the Summer Sale and Black Friday doesn't make any sense anyway .. just because CGTrader discounts 30% almost everytime either thru bonus credits or with a 30% discount. Customers expect big discounts for Summer Sale and Black Friday. Not giving a big discount is going to result in very either low sales or the usual numbers.. no increase in numbers for sure. While other sites that rarely give any discount might boost sales with a 30% discount indeed ... for CGTrader that can't happen, it is simple logic.

But is 50% off really 50% or isn't it only marketing? Here (and maybe also at Unity asset store) I can very easily change prices of all my products. So if you see 50% off it doesn't have to mean really 50%, because 50% is so huge portion of revenue that artist are thinking about tricking.
With 30% off there is no big reason make such a tricks so it is more fair for both sites - artists and sellers. And you will get REALLY discounted items.

On Unity and Epic Games Unreal Engine as well as on Steam prices don't get increased all of a sudden before Summer Sale or Black Friday... I never seen such a thing there, maybe a few did but surely the majority doesn't. You telling here that on CGTrader sellers can trick customers so easily is not a good thing for CGTrader and its sellers anyway if it happens. Tricking customers can maybe work once or twice but then people notice that and then the number of sales would surely drop a lot.

I'm sorry I do not know English I type with the help of an interpreter, apparently you are a buyer if you do not like discounts or prices on models,
You can bargain with the seller using the special function Offer your price

@wing688, look at it from the other angle - on cgtrader you're getting black friday all year round. I think it would be fair if cgtrader would decide to do something unusual and on black friday would decide not to give discounts at all ;] Your suggested 50%, maybe would boost sales a little, but nowhere near to cover losses due to much lower revenue per sale. Trust me, i know it, even regular 30% discounts doesn't worth it, that's why more and more veteran sellers decides to quit the discount program, which simply had got out of control. I'm pretty sure, that constant discounts aren't profitable for cgtrader itself, but they have their own motivations to keep them rolling even at the expense of their revenue.

In the settings of your profile, you can set discounts yourself. 30, 40 or 50 percent.

Oh. Excuse me. I thought you were the seller.) But if you are a buyer, then just offer your price for the goods. There's a possibility.

It's good that every artist can set it according to which discount is acceptable for him. It's new information for me as a seller. :-D
Then I have 1 recommendation that the banner at CGT site should be "BLACK FRIDAY WEEK! GET 3D MODELS WITH UP TO 50% OFF!".
I like that CGtrader is ahead in this way and has already implemented tasks for which artists are calling at other marketplaces without success.
