Automatic Model Suspending

Discussion started by qur

I want to raise a serious concern about the recent model suspensions on CGTrader.

In the last few days, some of my models were suspended with claims related to stolen content, nudity, violence, or IP infringement. None of these claims are true. These models were created by me from scratch, and the uploaded files include the original non-destructive modeling files. If the files were actually reviewed manually, it would be clear that the models are original work.

The problem is that the current process feels completely opaque. A model can be suspended, but the creator is not shown any real evidence, comparison, specific problematic part, or clear explanation. We are basically expected to accept a vague claim without knowing what triggered it.

This is especially frustrating because many creators here have spent years building their portfolios on CGTrader. First, earnings were lowered, and now original models can apparently be suspended based on reports or automated checks without proper manual verification. That is not fair to creators.

If a model is reported as stolen, CGTrader should provide at least some basic information:

Which model is allegedly copied?

What source is it being compared against?

Which part of the model is considered infringing?

Was this reviewed manually, or was it flagged automatically?

Original creators should not have to prove their innocence against vague accusations with no details. If CGTrader wants to protect the marketplace, it should also protect legitimate sellers from false reports, malicious claims, and automated mistakes.

At this point, I am seriously considering moving my files to other marketplaces such as Fab, because I cannot rely on a platform where original work can be suspended without a clear review process.

I hope CGTrader addresses this issue transparently, because this affects not only one seller but the trust of the entire creator community.
