Design Challenges are back — and this time we’re celebrating the spookiest season of the year! With great excitement, we announce the Halloween 3D Print Challenge on CGTrader.
This October, we invite all 3D creators, makers, and hobbyists to design, 3D print, and share your most fun, spooky, or magical 3D print-ready models. Whether it’s a creepy decoration, a cute Halloween prop, or a bewitching gadget — this is your chance to showcase your imagination and 3D printing skills to the world.
We’ve seen a growing trend in the community: 3D printable models are more popular than ever, and Halloween is the perfect theme to bring creativity to life! This challenge is open to everyone, no matter your background — from experienced 3D designers to makers who simply love to experiment with their printers.

- The Halloween 3D Print Challenge will run from October 7 to November 5, 2025.
- Winners will be announced on November 10, 2025.
- Entries must include:
- An original 3D print–ready file.
- At least one photo of the physical print (make).
- The halloween-challenge tag added when uploading your model.
- Submissions must follow the Halloween theme (spooky, fun, or magical).
- Submissions deemed to be adult content are not eligible to participate in the challenge.
- Only 3D print models uploaded during the contest period and tagged 'halloween-challenge' (October 3 – November 5, 2025) will be treated as valid entries.
- You can submit as many entries as you like, but each must follow the rules.
- The image of the actual printed make is the most important element of your entry.
- Renderings are optional, but if included, they should be clear and well-presented.
- When judging, the final printed result will be prioritized, with presentation considered as a supporting factor.
- All entries must be original creations and not previously published on CGTrader.
- Models that don’t meet the requirements (e.g., non-Halloween, older-dated, previously published, not 3D print-ready, or non-printable) will be removed from the contest without notice.
- By joining this challenge, you agree that your submission images may be used by CGTrader for marketing purposes.
- The challenge is open to everyone worldwide, including teams and legal entities.
- Participating in the challenge and uploading 3D models to the CGTrader platform is free of charge.
- To participate, you must create a CGTrader account, accept the Terms & Conditions, and successfully complete our standard KYC (Know Your Customer) check.
- Employees and relatives of CGTrader are not allowed to participate.
- Any existing taxes or duties must be paid by the prize winners. In case based on applicable tax laws CGTrader is supposed to withhold any taxes from prize payments, taxes will be deducted from prize payments.
- We reserve the right to disqualify entries that violate the rules.

Judging
The judging of the challenge is supervised by CGTrader staff. Winners will be chosen following the requirements below:

Judging Criteria
- Printability – The model must be fully 3D printable and function as intended.
- Creativity & Theme Fit – Originality, imagination, and how well the model captures the Halloween theme (spooky, fun, or magical).
- Quality of the Printed Make – The photo of the actual printed object is the most important element of the entry.
- Presentation – Renderings are optional, but if included, they should be clear and visually appealing. Good descriptions and relevant tags also help during the judging process.
Community Favorite
In addition to the judged prizes, a Community Favorite Award ($200) will go to the model that receives the most votes from the CGTrader community on the challenge page.

1. Do I need to upload files or only images of my 3D design?
You must upload a 3D print–ready file and at least one photo of your physical print (make) in order to participate.
2. Are renderings required?
No. The most important part of your entry is the photo of the printed make. Renderings are optional, but if you include them, make sure they are clear and well-presented.
3. Do I lose copyright to my 3D print file after uploading?
No. You always retain copyright to your model. Buyers cannot claim ownership of your design. CGTrader licenses (General, Editorial, Custom) give you control over how your file can be used.
4. How can I participate in the challenge?
- Create a CGTrader account.
- Accept the Terms & Conditions.
- Upload your original 3D print–ready model.
- Add at least one photo of the make.
- Tag it with halloween-challenge when uploading.
5. What if I tag one of my old models with “halloween-challenge”?
That won’t count. Only models uploaded between October 7 – November 5, 2025 will be considered valid entries.
6. Do free 3D models qualify for the challenge?
Yes! Free entries are welcome and judged equally.
7. Can I enter with 3D print models that participated in other contests elsewhere?
Yes, as long as the model hasn’t been previously uploaded to CGTrader. Only new uploads to our platform qualify.
8. Does the price I set for my model affect judging?
No. Judging is based on creativity, printability, and presentation, not the price.
9. Can I delete an older model and re-upload it to meet the “publishing period” requirement?
No. We track deleted and re-uploaded models. Only new, original entries uploaded during the challenge dates are valid.
10. Can I submit more than one entry?
Yes! You can upload as many models as you like, as long as each one meets the rules.
11. What is the Community Favorite award and how is it chosen?
The Community Favorite prize ($200) will be awarded to the model that receives the most hearts from the CGTrader community on the model page.
12. Do I need verification to receive prizes?
Yes. Winners will be required to complete our standard verification process (KYC) before prize payouts. This is a routine step for all CGTrader users to confirm your account and ensure rewards are distributed securely.
