Description

Name of the model: Discocone Conch Ornamented 3Triangles: 1281432Vertices: 640718Information: This model emulates an almost oxyconic conch known as discocone withornamentation (Dichotomous ribs). In oxycones the umbilicus is not well exposed, and theoverall shell form is compressed. According to Westermann (1996) the whorl height showspronounced expansion during accretion of the recent 180° of shell whorl. Oxycones would haveoffered higher stability and maneuverability than other forms, and generally a short bodychamber.References:Westermann GEG. 1996. Ammonoid Life and Habitat.
