1/13
1/1800th scale Jan van Amstel-class minesweeper model. Certain elements not to scale.
The Jan van Amstel-class minesweepers were Dutch minesweepers built between 1936–1940 for service in European waters and the Dutch East Indies. Twelve were planned but only nine were completed because of the German occupation of the Netherlands, and five were lost during the war. Their armament was modest: a single 76 mm (3-inch) gun, two twin .50-caliber machine-gun mounts, and they could also carry up to 40 naval mines in a secondary minelaying role. One ship of the class, HNLMS Abraham Crijnssen, famously escaped Japanese forces by disguising itself as a tropical island with trees and foliage covering the ship while moving only at night.
This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.
This is part of my collection of WWII warships, keep an eye out for more to come. If you have a specific request, message me and I'll bump it up my list.
Tested with PLA at .1mm layer height with .4mm nozzle.
