1/1800th scale L class destroyer model. Certain elements not to scale.

The L and M-class destroyers were Royal Navy destroyers built between 1938–1942, with 16 ships completed across the two subclasses and 9 lost during World War II. Their armament varied because the class was part of Britain’s move toward stronger anti-aircraft capability: some ships carried three twin 4.7-inch dual-purpose gun mounts, while others carried four twin 4-inch dual-purpose mounts; they also carried a quadruple 2-pounder “pom-pom,” machine guns, two quadruple 533 mm torpedo tube mounts, and depth charges. Many later wartime refits replaced torpedo tubes with additional anti-aircraft weapons and upgraded radar equipment as air threats became more important.

This model is designed and tested at 1/1800th scale, but up-scaling and down-scaling are possible. Since the model is optimized for 1/1800th scale, it is not ideal to print larger versions due to a lack of detail. The gun barrels and mast have been enlarged.
